David Sweet

David Sweet is a paediatrician in Belfast and in addition to this has enjoyed painting from his studio at home over the past few years. He works mainly in soft pastel and has been accepted for full membership of the Pastel Society of Ireland in 2009. His figure painting of a child was used for the Pastel Society of Ireland’s poster for their Autumn exhibition in the Waterfront Hall in 2010. His main artistic interest is figurative painting where he chooses subjects in ordinary situations dramatically lit to provide atmosphere and contrast.
