Cupar Pilson

Born in Belfast, Cupar Pilson has worked for many years as a graphic artist in printing and newspaper advertising. However his first love has always been to paint landscape in oils, acrylics and mixed media.

In recent years the human figure has tended to dominate, so much so that the landscape has become secondary to the foreground human subject matter. Humour and story- linked to local past scenes and personal memories, along with a certain naivety of style is a hallmark of his work.
He exhibits in various galleries and open exhibitions around Northern Ireland. He has exhibited in the past successfully in the open exhibitions of the Royal Ulster Academy annual shows.
His work is represented in various private collections throughout Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, the UK, USA, Canada and Australia.
